Growing up, Jen's always had an array of interests like psychology, cultures, marine biology, environmental conservation, diplomacy, and...becoming a superstar or back-up dancer. Throughout her college career, she could not settle on which major to choose because she liked EVERYTHING. She drove her parents crazy.
Jen was born in France to a French father and Canadian mother, giving her roots in Montreal, QC. and Paris, France where she has lived six and ten years respectively. Following 9/11, her family moved to the United States after disapproving of the anti-US sentiment and growing anti-semitism in France.
After graduating from Indiana University (Hoo-Hoo-Hoosiers!), Jen began working for a global pharmaceutical pharmacy. There, she learned the importance of continuous learning, building connections (and friendships!), to take initiative, and empathy. Then came the time to move on...to South Korea.
South Korea was the most random, overwhelming, wildest, eye-opening year. Returning to the US was not a priority, so she went to Melbourne, Australia where she worked for Greenpeace and au-paired. If she had one piece of advice to give you, it would be to never do the former.
Not one to stay put, Jen ventured to Spain and, well, has stayed put.
Unlike Australia, Spain gave her the rush, excitement, and novelty South Korea had given her. Due to her indiscriminate love of everything, she got involved - you guessed it - in everything. This included volunteering, joining a music club and travel group, going to language exchanges, giving English lessons, starring in a Spanish play, and wait for it... obtaining a master's degree in International Relations.
Ever since graduating, Jen has continued being involved with her community, organisations, attending conferences and events, and now creating a niche pertaining to her interest in international relations through this site.
Looks like she may have found her calling.
